AFRICAN DISSERTATION INTERNSHIP AWARDS
Special Programming Grants Deadlines: March 1 and October 1, annually doctoral students from Sub-Saharan Africa are invited to apply to the Rockefeller Foundation for dissertation research support. The program enables Ph.D. students enrolled in U.S. and Canadian universities to return to Africa for extensive field research in areas relevant to agriculture, health, life sciences, population, environment, and education.  Amount of funding: $20,000. The Environmental Research and Education Foundation annually offers funding through the Francois Fiessinger Scholarship Fund to support the work of outstanding students pursuing environmental research at the doctoral level. Applications will be considered from full-time Ph.D. students who have a clearly demonstrated interest in environmental research. Awards are made without regard to an applicant's race, religion, national or ethnic origin, citizenship, or disability. Applications from students outside the United States or studying abroad will receive equal consideration.
