Amy H. Salem Ph.D. "90"
Dr Salem, a graduate of Veterinary Science, College of Agricultural Sciences, is the manager for Animal Regulatory Affair and Training at Merck & Co., Inc. since 2006. She also serves as the chairman for the Animal Alternatives Award Committee. Previously, she worked at the University of Pennsylvania from 1999 to 2006, initially as their compliance coodinator and finally, as the associate director of the IACUC. Dr. Salem also worked for several years as an adjunct professor at Manor College teaching comparative anatomy and physiology, plus a lab, and worked as an adjunct professor at Cabrini College teaching biology. In 1994, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical college of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Salem is listed in the Global Directory of Who's Who and is a member of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, Pennsylvana Society for Biomedical Research and New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research. She was also a Grand Marshal for Penn State and a member of the National Honors Society.
She graduated from the State University of New York with an AAS-Veterinary Technology in 1982; from Penn State with B.S. in Animal BioScience in 1984 from the Univerity of Delaware with a M.S. in 1986; and from Penn State with a Ph.D. in Veterinary Science in 1990 under Dr. Channa Reddy.
